Hi folks
Long was my silence...
But actually, there wasn't anything very interesting to say about my stay in Houston. My work is soon finished out there and I'm writing my report and search for a job.
So i collected all the things that happened during the last post and put here.
I went"tubing" in a river close to Austin. It was so hot in that period (100°F) that such kind of activities were more than welcome even though it means driven more than 2 hours to get there.
The best part in tubing is that you have nothing to do except being on a tube relax enjoy the sun and the water with a good beer.
In the office i got also sometimes a bit bored by all the simulation and coding so i tried out some news stuff.
Drinking every day a much needed cup of coffe at starbucks, turned my office into somekind of used cup cemetery. I used the depot left in the cup to paint some simple stuff.
One of my roommates left on the 1st August for Austin...
And she had a lot of stuff!!!
there a little look of the inside of the truck when she left.
I also had some visitors from the wild in front of my house.
I saw already several of those, but mostly during the night and never the kids. Even though i was only 15 feet away from them they didn't seemed to care.
The last major event happened last weekend.
I went with my roommate to Galveston SURFING !!!
this was just amazing! Was quite hard, and i was not really good at it. But was so fun and the water was so warm. We went there until nightfall.
I miss you all, but soon i will be home and can meet you again
See you soon

Zoo and some other stuff!
Lately i didn't put any news on the Blog since nothing really fancy happened.
But yesterday i went to the Houston Zoo and it was Great!!!!
One of my Roommates had this great idea! And the best was that the Zoo was Free for the UH students.
The good things was that it wasn't to hot outside. So we had a very nice afternoon.
We saw the cutes animal ever.
On a vu un poisson a 4 yeux... (2 pour voir dans l'eau et 2 autres pour l'air libre)
There is the weirdest cow ever!!
He wasn't invited to the Zoo but still find a way to sneak in ^^

Let's Shoot
Hi my dear Friends!!!
Again I'm very lazy i don't post to much on this blog...
But this time i have something quite interesting to tell.
I was talking to one of my roommate and in the discussion i mentioned that i never shot with a gun.
So he offered me to try to shoot with him!
I was so excited by the idea even-though I was a bit scared.
So on last Saturday we went to is parents home and took some gun
A 22 long rifle and two shotguns
So we drove to an place two hours from Houston in the middle of the rednecks
It was a pretty place in the middle of nowhere. It was very calm but we where there to make some noise!
So there is a little picture of me holding a rifle
There you have an ammunition box
And here one of the Shotguns

A new room, a new life...
Hello guys and girls
I didn't gave any News lately and I'm sorry about that, but i was a bit concerned by my search of a room.
And I can announce you that i finally found one!!!
If you want the address just ask me ^^
I will soon put some other pictures of the house, and also the one of the University
For those you had any concern about me, I'm pretty fine, I'm getting used to the US life.
My work is getting more and more interesting, I'm working a lot with Denis Netter, and this guys i just amazing he knows a lot about electrical motors, even though he said I should have met a guys Laporte.
he speaks of him like this guy is the God of electrical motor ^^
There are also some changes in my internship, it looks like i will work more on dimensioning of electrical motors than work on AC losses in superconductors... I understood that we have at least 4 contacts for electrical motors, so we will have a lot of work.
Some bad news, Ting Cheng's wife (this guys works with us and is a good friend) had a car accident... She is okay now and it's nothing serious. We don't know what really happened, but we will have some more news on Monday
A part from that I have nothing very interesting to say ^^
Love you all

Work...
Hi my dear Friends
This post is more for my dear friends of the University than for the family...
I'm not in the United states of America for making some funny vacation in the sun ( would have been great, but boring after a while). So i gonna talk a bit about I'm doing at the moment. So since the first day of work I'm learning how to use a program named FlexPDE
It doesn't look very nice and sophisticated like Comsol but it works very well.
The good points of this program are the fact that you have to put all the equations by hand so you know what you're solving. and that all the files are very light because it's just text. The bad side of it is that you have to generate the figures, that you want to create, with codes. That's just annoying do you have to be very precise in what you're doing.
For the moment I have been asked to generate a program capable to create almost any three phase Synchronous AC motor you want. So the user should be able to choose almost all the parameter of the machine and FlexPDE will generate a 2D simulation of it.
The final objective of this program is the modeling of a superconducting motor for Wind turbines for a big Chinese company. (I can't say to much about it here ^^)
I will put some pictures of my work tomorrow so you can see how it looks like.

Hermann Park
Hi guys (and girls)
I hope you're all fine.
This weekend I went to Hermann Park, and it's i think the prettiest place i ever went in Houston (Brazos is outside so it doesn't count ^^)
We first went to the Chinese part: who was quite sober but nice.
There was also a Rose garden
It wasn't very big but the flowers looked very nice. (sadly i didn't took to much photographs)
Then we went to the main part of the park who was really amazing even-though it was crowded.
The park was also full of animals (I'm not talking of the Americans ^^)
Like turtles, ducks, gooses, and some kind of nutria
As you saw on the pictures it was pretty sunny and it was a real pleasure to walk around this park.
I saw also some weird things like a mother and is child feeding ducks with chips!?
Their where also a bunch of people who made their wedding photos in the park, some of the couple looked very nice.
On Sunday then I was invited for lunch in a French family, it was great and we ate so much!!! During the whole afternoon i had totally forgotten that i was in the US.
the Flying Lotus concert in Houston
(it's not the show in Houston but looks pretty the same except that the sound was much better ^^)

First day and first Seminar
Hi my dear Friends
I gonna tell you a little bit about my first working day in Houston.
For the moment I'm living with one of my colleague named Clement who is very nice to me.
We went at 9 am to the university, It's a really great and pretty place. I don't have made any photos of it yet but soon i will publish some ^^
I meet my "Boss" Mr. Masson, we talked a bit about what i gonna do during my internship and what i will probably do for my PhD (sounds great to me). The day was filled with paper work and reading, so actually nothing really interesting at all...
I did also meet some of the guys who are gonna work with me like Guillaume, Ting Cheng et some others
Before lunch we meet Mr.Rossi
and we went to the seminar he gave at UH (University of Houston)
LHC and the of Superconductivity in the Hunt for the Higgs Boson
It was simply amazing and very interesting. This guy is the leader of the High Luminosity LHC at CERN, and also 2013 IEEE-‐CSC Distinguished Lecturer for Superconductivity.
For more infos you can look here
He also gave an over conference on Tuesday who was also very interesting
The Mystery of Matter and the Hunt for the God Particle
I'm sorry that I don't wrote so much lately, i never really find the time to write , but i hope this will change and i will try to put a lot of pictures of the University .
